National Conciliation and Mediation Board
Regional Conciliation Branch No. IV B
28 December 2016
Six Overseas Filipino Workers previously employed by Gigabyte Technology Company Limited in Taiwan received their monetary claims in just two conciliation conferences through the Single Entry Approach Program or SEnA.
The complainants filed a Request for Assistance with the RCMB-IVB against Grand Placement and General Services Group (GPGSG) alleging payment of excessive placement fees.
During the first conciliation conference, GPGSG representative Conchita Ong said that the amount was paid to the Taiwanese broker. However, on the second conference, Ong agreed to amicably settle the RFA.
Five of the complainants received P40,000.00 each while the other received P13,000.00. The amount was granted after an amicable settlement with the responding party, Grand Placement and General Services Group(GPGSG).
The Single Entry Approach (SENA) is an administrative approach to provide speedy, impartial, inexpensive and accessible settlement procedure of all labor issues or conflicts to prevent them from ripening into full blown disputes. Conciliation Mediation shall be utilized as immediate intervention to effect an amicable settlement among the differing parties.
