Single Entry Assistance Desk Officer Ronaldo Marcelo joins the retired worker and a representative from the real estate company following the turnover of the first installment of the former associate director’s money claims by the HR office.
Quezon City – More than P1.7M pesos in separation and retirement monetary benefits is set to be awarded to a retired employee of a Makati-based real estate company through staggered post-dated cheques. This follows the successful settlement of a Request for Assistance (RFA) under the Single Entry Approach (SEnA) program on July 4, 2025.
In the RFA filed with the National Conciliation and Mediation Board (NCMB) Central Office on June 16, 2025, the former employee raised concerns over the non-payment of his final pay and retirement benefits, despite repeated follow-ups with the company. During the initial interview, he also disclosed that he had been placed on floating status for 6 months prior to filing for retirement, which took effect on March 15, 2025.
Both the management and the former worker actively participated in the initial conciliation conference held on July 2, 2025. During the proceedings, both parties readily reached an agreement on the final computation of the employee’s separation and retirement benefits.
However, a stalemate arose regarding the proposed installment schedule for the payment of benefits. The former employee insisted on a two-installment payout while the HR officer representing the company offered a seven-installment scheme. As the company representative needed to consult top management on the matter, another conference was scheduled two days later.
At the followed-up conference, the parties amicably settled the issue and mutually agreed to formally sever their employee-employer relationship.
A former project management associate director with over 12 years of service, the employee received the first of the scheduled payments on July 10, 2025. The remaining six installments are set to be disbursed until the end of this year.
Designed as an administrative mechanism to provide an accessible, speedy, and impartial process for resolving workplace disputes, the SEnA program—together with this settlement—underscores the NCMB’s continuous commitment in fostering harmonious labor-management relations through open communication and fair negotiation. As of June 30, 2025, the NCMB has successfully settled 70% of its handled RFAs. These efforts have resulted in a total of P107.06 million in monetary benefits granted to 1,923 workers as a result of the amicable settlement between parties involved.end/jppm
