NATIONAL CONCILIATION AND MEDIATION BOARD
7 MAY 2020

Adapting to the advancement in information technology, the National Conciliation and Mediation Board (NCMB) of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has migrated its website hosting (www.ncmb.gov.ph) to the Government Web Hosting Service (GWHS) of the Department of Information and Communication Technology (DICT).

The Board’s website was previously hosted by a private web hosting company. Through the continued collaboration of its Research and Information Division with the DICT, the Board has institutionalized a government corporate identity through the availment of its Domain Name of ncmb.gov.ph for its website. The NCMB website hosting migration which was completed in April 2020 is part of the Board’s initiatives to establish a government identity and be a part of the igov.ph of the DICT. This is also in conjunction with the vision of DICT Secretary Gregorio B. Honasan II to connect the government with other governments, domestic and global; government with businesses; government with citizens; and with everybody. This the DICT does in a faster, cheaper and in a more secure manner.

In another development, the Domain Name Server (DNS) hosting for NCMB has been approved by the DICT on 7 May 2020. This establishes the official turnover of NCMB website for igov.ph domain as part of the Integrated Government Philippines (iGovPhil) Program of the DICT. The migration is in compliance with AO No. 30, dated July 12, 2013, mandating all government agencies to migrate to the GWHS of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and DICT. GWHS aims to improve processes in the government, rationalize government operations, and improve the delivery of goods and services to the people.

DNS is the internet’s equivalent of a phone book. It maintains a directory of domain names and translates them to Internet Protocol (IP) addresses where computers or machines access websites based on IP addresses.
