Metro, Manila – The National Conciliation and Mediation Board (NCMB), in cooperation with the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) being the lead public information arm of the country, conducted a series of training workshops for the Board’s creative team composed of Labor Information Officers (LIOs) and IT Focals last 18-22 September 2023 at Quezon City, Metro Manila.

The five-day training workshop was attended by the Board’s creative team from the different regional branches nationwide for them to produce a cinematic-quality visual content that will serve as a medium for the Board to showcase its success stories and upscale its branding.

During the opening ceremony, Internal Services OIC-Director II and Concurrent RID Chief Marife Fausto warmly welcomed the participants coming from its offices nationwide. In her message, she highlighted the role of LIOs in realizing the Board’s programs and activities through continuous documentation of its exemplary projects, as well as, the implementation of the Board’s communication plan by creating quality social media collateral.

Executive Director Maria Teresita Lacsamana-Cancio also graced the event. In her inspirational message, she encouraged the participants to seize every opportunity to learn and contribute to the Board’s continuing effort in promoting its mission and goals. “The NCMB Central Office officials are here to support you. We are providing you with every opportunity and every learning intervention so that you could be the best that you can be,” ED Cancio said, manifesting her support in the conduct of the activity.

The subjects of the workshop covered the pre-production, the production, and the post-production, which are considered as the three (3) key stages in filmmaking.
Buena Fe De Guzman of the PIA led the discussion on pre-production and gave an overview on video production. Subsequently, Kate Shiene Austria imparted invaluable insights on scriptwriting and storyboarding while Rudy Barcenas had a deep dive discussion on the functionalities of film cameras and lighting equipment. Completing the entire capacity building picture of the event, post production focusing on video editing using Adobe Premiere was covered by Marinell Gonzales-Rosit.

De Guzman expressed her gratitude to the Board for trusting the Agency. In addition, the Agency expressed that they are willing to network for the Board’s advocacy in the promotion of its programs and services towards its mission of maintaining industrial peace in the country.
