NCMB CONDUCTS THE 22ND LABOR DISPUTE MANAGEMENT COURSE
Regional Directors and Conciliator-Mediators of the National Conciliation and Mediation Board attended the 22nd Labor Dispute Management Course for the latest updates on labor jurisprudence and department issuances to enhance capabilities in handling conciliation-mediation cases on April 10-13, 2018 at Hotel Supreme Convention Plaza in Baguio City.
Bureau of Working Conditions Policy and Development Program Division Chief Nicanor V. Bon discussed relevant DOLE issuances such as Department Order No. 183-17 on the Revised Rules in the Bureau of Working Condition, Administration and Enforcement of Labor Laws Pursuant to Article 128 of the Labor Code, Department Order No. 174, series of 2017, and Voluntary Regularization Program under Labor Advisory No. 6, series of 2017.
Bureau of Labor Relations Med Arbiter Atty. Ramon A. Saura III presented updates on Jurisprudence specifically on Representation Issues, Labor Standards, and Termination of Employment and Regularization.
Regional Conciliation and Mediation Branch VII Director Edmundo T. Mirasol and Conciliator-Mediator Hacelfeo T. Cuares discussed and provided salient features in Probing and Technical Writing in Conciliation Mediation.
A conciliation mediation workshop followed where participants applied the probing and technical writing techniques discussed by the facilitators.
“I would like to congratulate everyone for our great performance in 2017,” Executive Director Shirley M. Pascual said addressing the Regional Directors and the Conciliator-Mediators.
“I encourage our regional branches to strengthen coordination with the DOLE Regional Offices for the Convergence of Programs,” Pascual said as she informed the participants that the Board will continue to implement the convergence of programs this year.
Meanwhile, Undersecretary Joel B. Maglunsod lauded the NCMB for its outstanding contribution to the maintenance of industrial peace in the country.
“Our goal is to prevent labor violation and enforce compliance in labor standards at the workplace for us to attain true industrial peace” Maglunsod said.
To wrap up the activity, the Central Office presented the regional branches’ physical and financial performance for the first quarter of 2018.
