NCMB conducts Archives and Records Management Information System Users’ Training

In coordination with the Department of Information and Communication Technology (DICT), the Board conducted a 2-day Users’ Training on Archives and Records Management Information System (ARMIS) held at Brentwood Suites on May 2-3, 2019. The users’ training is part of the Board’s ISSP for this year aimed to improve the management of the Board’s digital documents.

In preparation to the implementation of the ARMIS Boardwide, twenty-eight (28) Central Office and Regional Branches personnel were trained to enable them to be familiarized on how to use it and help them in their work.

In the opening message of IS Director Maria Cristina O. Mangaliman, she encouraged the participants to fully understand the system. She said that the training serves as a means of addressing the concerns of the Board in terms of document tracking and management.

While OIC Executive Director Maria Teresita L. Cancio conveyed the importance of data as the lifeblood of the agency. According to her, reports are not only prepared because it is required, but also in order to analyse data and use it in the implementation of the programs and functions of the Board.She directed the participants to support and maximize the use of the ARMIS in their respective units/regions to achieve its objective in the management of records.

Said activity was facilitated by Mr. Jayson D. Martinez, Ms. Jane V. Berena and Ms. Alliyah Jan S. Estrella of the DICT who define the knowledge imparted.

The ARMIS is a program that integrates systems of managing records, documents and archives of national government agencies. It works with the National Archives of the Philippines (NAP) in terms of document archiving. It also supports and give utmost priority to safeguard, protect and preserve public documents and records through RA 9470 of 2007.
