Baguio City – Joining forces over cases, the Conciliator-Mediators attended the Second Quarter Directors’ Meeting held at The Plaza Lodge Baguio, 32 South Drive, Baguio City on 26 June 2023. The meeting kicked off the Board’s three-part program in the City of Pines.

Executive Director Maria Teresita Lacsamana-Cancio requested the Conciliator-Mediators to provide more than developments and present their plan of action and recommendations towards the settlement of issues.

According to ED Lacsamana-Cancio, all Directors and Conciliator-Mediators must work together and lend their hand, even in labor disputes not handled by their respective offices.

The participants were briefed with the Board’s accomplishments ahead of the Midyear Performance Assessment (MYPA) scheduled on 11-13 July 2023. ED Lacsamana-Cancio shared that this matter was included in the meeting to present and review the data consolidated by the Central Office. Directors were tasked to counter-check their running accomplishments based on the data in their Regional Branches.

Central Office Division Chiefs led the discussions on the meeting agenda. Chiefs Marife Fausto and Mariz Taggueg took turns in sharing the progress of the Central Office and the Regional Branches in achieving their respective targets. Chief Rose-Maria Mamaoag, on the other hand, shared updates on the branches’ filling up of vacancies and the implementation of the Alternative Work Arrangement (AWA).

Chief Ericson Igual facilitated the exchanges on the pending Notices of Strike while ED Lacsamana-Cancio provided recommendations and instructions to the case handlers.

During the course of the exchanges, ED Lacsamana-Cancio reminded everyone not to be intimidated by bigshot personalities representing the parties.

“Huwag kayong matatakot, huwag kayong mako-conscious na bigatin ang mga kaharap niyo. After all that is said and done, you are the one handling the case.” ED Lacsamana-Cancio said.

The Directors’ meeting is a quarterly consultation dialogue of the Regional Branch Directors and Central Office Officials. This quarter’s meeting has invited the Conciliator-Mediators to join the dialogue, present their action plans, and work together in generating options and solutions to the issues at hand.
