Tacloban City — The new leadership in RCMB-8 officially began on September 1, 2015 as Officer-in-Charge Francis Gonzalo Jr. took the helm from RCMB-8 director Feliciano Orihuela Jr, following the order of OIC Executive Director Shirley Pascual on the reassignment of branch directors and officers-in-charge. 

Orihuela will replace Dir. Estrella Rosal as branch head of RCMB-4A. Rosal has been re-assigned to RCMB-NCR.

During the simple turnover ceremonies on August 28, 2015, Orihuela thanked the staff for their unwavering support of his leadership. “I have always been hands-on in all areas of administration and in maintaining operations within the branch. I sincerely hope that the staff learned something from me during my 10-month stay in the region,” Orihuela said.

He likewise challenged them to remain motivated and continue striving to become better performers in the field of public service. With ‘mixed emotions’ he bid everyone goodbye and wished for luck as he heads off to the next challenge of his career.

Gonzalo, for his part, urged everyone to maintain the good policies practiced by the branch and continue serving in the manner that the clients expect from us. As he graciously accepted the challenge of being designated the OIC of RCMB-8, he encouraged the staff to strive for continuous improvement specifically in areas that need enhancement.

“This is all about us. I will encourage teamwork during my stewardship,” said Gonzalo. “We are one team and we will work best when we work together,” he added.

He likewise went over what the staff should expect of him, and that includes the continuous monitoring and evaluation of their performance viz-a-viz the branch’s targets. He expressed his wish that they be committed to the accomplishment of the major final outputs taken up in the office performance commitment and review.

Prior to his assumption, Gonzalo was among the pool of conciliator-mediators at RCMB-4A. He also served as labor arbitration associate at the National Labor Relations Commission-National Capital Region and was with the Department of Labor and Employment – Cordillera Administrative Region.
