Metro Manila – The National Conciliation and Mediation Board (NCMB) celebrated its 36th Founding Anniversary on January 4, 2024 at the NCMB Central Office, Quezon City with Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Secretary Bienvenido E. Laguesma, DOLE Undersecretary Benedicto Ernesto R. Bitonio, Jr, NCMB key officials and employees headed by Executive Director Maria Teresita Lacsamana-Cancio, Regional Conciliation and Mediation Board (RCMB) Directors, and former key personnel of the Board in attendance.
This year’s founding anniversary focused on the theme, “NCMB sa Bagong Pilipinas, Serbisyong Walang Kupas, Tapat at Tahas”, which highlights the agency’s dedication in strengthening and aligning its programs, activities and projects towards accountable, progressive and inclusive governance to realize the goals and aspirations of every Filipino.
In his message, Secretary Laguesma urged and challenged the Board to persistently improve its performance, to always aim for a better NCMB. “Gawin lang po natin ang ating trabaho ayon sa ating pananaw at mandato. Huwag po tayong magpapa-apekto sa mga hindi inaasahang pangyayari. Patuloy po kayong gumanap sa inyong tungkulin upang makatulong tayo para sa katuparan ng layunin ng ating Pangulo para sa isang Bagong Pilipinas,” he advised.
The Labor Chief also commended the Board for its 36 years of service to the public in utmost diligence, as he emphasized its significant contributions in the promotion and maintenance of industrial peace.
Meanwhile, the Board conferred awards to exemplary employees to recognize and incentivize their dedication and tireless efforts in the prompt and efficient delivery of service. Executive Director IV Maria Teresita Lacsamana-Cancio took the opportunity to thank all the employees for their hard work and contributions, emphasizing the need for the same dedication, performance and efforts as the Board prepares for another year ahead.
“I am very proud that NCMB has such dedicated and committed people. May the awards serve as inspiration and encouragement to all employees of the Board to showcase their innovative and creative ideas and contribute more to the productivity, efficiency and integrity of our office,” she added.
Through the years, the NCMB has remained true to its mission and mandate as an institution. It has shown unwavering commitment in the promotion of labor rights and maintenance of industrial peace. “As the new year begins, the Board will continuously undertake services and programs to aid every Filipino worker,” said Deputy Executive Director IV Teresita Audea in her closing message.
