The Regional Conciliation and Mediation Branch – National Capital Region (RCMB-NCR) conducted a Plant-Level Enhancement Seminar (PLES) at Universal Robina Corporation – Agro Industrial and Commodities Group (URC-AIG) in Pasig City on 6 July 2023.
The activity not only enhanced the bipartite mechanisms in URC-AIG but also provided learning insights and deepened the understanding of participants on workers’ rights and management prerogatives. During the enhancement seminar, Conciliator-Mediator Estelita S. Bautista emphasized that while workers have their rights, employers also have rights inherent to them. She stressed that maintaining industrial harmony in the workplace is a collective effort and everyone should take responsibility in preventing conflict and nurturing relationships in URC-AIG.
The company, in coordination with union representatives of URC-AIG has conducted several activities such as health and awareness training, departmental team building, company outing and anniversary celebration as part of their undertakings in enhancing the LMC of URC-AIG.
Senior LEO Grace E. Membrere and LEO III Ferdinand M. Hernaez discussed topics on Grievance Machinery and Labor Management Cooperation, respectively.
Universal Corn Products Technical and Office Staff Employees Association (URC-TOSEA) Union President Edwin R. Bagasmad expressed his appreciation to RCMB-NCR for being supportive in sustaining their relationship with the management of URC-AIG through the LMC program.

Universal Corn Products Technical and Office Staff Employees Association (URC-TOSEA) is the duly certified sole and exclusive bargaining agent of the rank-and-file monthly paid technical and office employees of URC-AIG and affiliated with the Association of Genuine Labor Organization (ANGLO). It has an existing CBA effective from 1 January 2019 to 31 December 2023.
