NCMB Successfully Pass Internal Quality Audit for CY 2022

Metro Manila – The National Conciliation and Mediation Board (NCMB) once again passed the Internal Quality Audit for 2022 last 08-09 March 2022. The NCMB was audited by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Internal Quality Auditors (IQA) led by Mr. Jesus A. Bongcayao. It was participated in by the NCMB Quality Management System Committee and was conducted via Remote Audit Process.

During the first leg of the two-day activity, the IQA team conducted an assessment of the enrolled processes of the NCMB including the documentation of the said processes. A review of other processes relating to the health and safety measures/protocols implemented by the NCMB due to COVID-19 pandemic was also conducted. The IQA team examined the activities and steps undertaken by the Board to address the challenges brought upon by the pandemic which includes the digitization of most of its services.

On the second day, the IQA team presented their audit findings. Mr. Bongcayao shared that after validation of the documents submitted, the Board is found compliant with the audit standards of the enrolled processes. In addition, two (2) Good Practices were also noted by the IQA team on the digitization efforts of the Board in the implementation of its programs and continuing observance of health and safety protocol despite the easing of restrictions to Alert Level 1. The team likewise cited two (2) Opportunities for Improvement for the attainment of the disposition and settlement rates on Actual Strike/Lockout and Single-Entry Approach Program, respectively. In closing, the IQA Team commended the NCMB for its active and full participation in the conduct of the Internal Quality Audit.

Executive Director Maria Teresita D. Lacsamana-Cancio gave her closing message after the presentation of audit findings. She acknowledged the assistance and efforts extended by the IQA team to NCMB. She also shared that in every audit activity, even with the Commission on Audit, the common observation/comment is the full participation of the entire Committee. For NCMB, any audit of its processes is a way of improving its services. “I would like to thank our team – our QMS team, sa kanilang dedication sa trabaho. Hindi pa kami nakakakuha ng mga non-conformities because of the team’s hard work and dedication. So to our team, good work and let us continue being this good. Congratulations to everyone!” she added.
