Quezon City – The Regional Conciliation and Mediation Branch MIMAROPA successfully conducted the training on the Single Entry Approach Program for DOLE- MIMAROPA personnel on February 22, 2021 via Zoom video conferencing application.
“The training was in response to DOLE MIMAROPAS’s request to conduct training for its new Labor and Employment Officers and would-be SEnA Desk Officers for its field offices,” Branch OIC-Director Francis A. Gonzalo, Jr. said.
The training provided an overview of the program and conciliation-mediation techniques.
Supervising LEO Julia P. Peleo of the Branch discussed the legal bases and Implementing Rules and Regulations of the Single Entry Approach (SEnA) Program.
To supplement her discussion on SEnA, Peleo conducted online pre-test and post-test to measure the understanding of the participants on SEnA concepts and procedure and the learnings they gained in the webinar
OIC-Director Gonzalo shared conciliation-mediation techniques used by Conciliator-Mediators and Single Entry Approach Desk Officers (SEADOs) in handling and resolving labor disputes.
Structured learning exercises and examples were utilized to aid participants in understanding the skills and work attitude and values of an effective SEnA handler or SEADO.
“We are thankful to RCMB MIMAROPA for sharing their time, actual experiences and expertise in handling requests for assistance (RFA).” DOLE RO MIMAROPA Senior LEO Lorie Catapang said.
“I admit that in my seven years in DOLE, I had no idea how to handle Requests for Assistance,” DOLE RO IV-B Senior LEO Karen Bugarin said.
“I will apply what I have learned from this training to settle the RFAs that I will handle in the future,” Bugarin added.
In 2020, RCMB IV-B conducted a similar training for all SEADOs in DOLE RO IV-B offices.
DOLE RO MIMAROPA Regional Director Joffrey M. Suyao thanked the National Conciliation and Mediation Board and the Branch for their support in the conduct of the training.
The basic training in SEnA was attended by 15 participants from the field offices of DOLE RO MIMAROPA.
