The National Conciliation and Mediation Board honored the 33 years in service of Regional Conciliation and Mediation Branch Director Susana A. Quimpo.

The officials of the Board took a time off from their Directors’ Meeting to surprise Director Quimpo with a sweet early morning serenade at the break of dawn to show their gratitude for her years spent with the Board.

Quimpo held the position of Director II on September 9, 2013 until her retirement in September 2019.

Prior to her appointment as Director II, she was appointed as conciliator-mediator from July 28, 1999 to September 8, 2013.  She was also designated as Chief of the Conciliation Mediation Division on September 7, 2004   to July 27, 2005 and OIC Director of Regional Conciliation Mediation Branch- V on July 18, 2008 to September 8, 2013.

Quimpo is a Career Service Professional and a graduate of Bachelor of Laws from Aklan College Central Philippine University. She also finished her Bachelor of Science in Commerce and Accounting from the same university.

She completed her Masteral Degree in Government Management at the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila.

Director Susan is a charismatic and generous leader loved by her colleagues.  She is a valuable mentor to her staffs and fellow conciliator-mediator alike.

Most of all, for those who have more than  a minute of her 20 years in the Board, she is a friend  whom they fondly called “ Dir. Suane” or “Dir. Sansu.”

Her thoughtfulness radiates in her simple acts.  Whether it is remembering someone’s birthday or her small gifts when she visits the Central Office.

Thus, on the occasion of Dir. Quimpo’s 65th birthday, Executive Director Maria Teresita D. Lacsamana-Cancio, together with the Regional Branch Directors/OICs expressed their appreciation for her contribution in the maintenance of industrial peace in the country.

A fond farewell to a co-worker marked the celebration.  Greetings and messages rendered through songs were presented by the Directors and OICs by cluster.  A video presentation showing her life  with the Board and the different events she attended at NCMB was likewise presented.

To top it all, a re-composition of the song entitled “Binibini” was made specially for Dir. Susan.  Its lyrics personify her character and dedication to her work such that at the end of song, the Directors/OICs were able to express their feelings by singing… “O kay ganda, O kay gandang makasama ka.  Ate Susan, O Ate Susan, Salamat sa yo.”
