Parañaque City – The National Conciliation and Mediation Board (NCMB) conducted the 2025 Trainers’ Training for its Program Implementers from April 1 to 4, 2025, at Sequoia Hotel Manila Bay in Parañaque City. The training aimed to empower participants by enhancing their expertise in workplace dynamics, focusing particularly in the intersection of industrial relations mechanisms, AI-driven communication strategies, and gender mainstreaming. Participants also gained valuable insights from successful program implementations, specifically with regard to the promotion of Labor-Management Cooperation (LMC) and Grievance Machinery (GM) programs.

Marami sa atin ang bago, kaya back to basics tayo in promoting LMC and GM. Dahil maraming bago, dapat maintindihan nila ang pagpo-promote natin ng ating mga programa, at kasama nito ang bagong edisyon ng technology, kaya nahaluan nito ang ilang paksa,” Deputy Executive Director IV Teresita E. Audea made this statement during her welcome remarks.

DED Audea emphasized that for experienced implementers who have successfully used effective strategies, sharing best practices is a vital aspect of the program. She urged everyone to continually learn from one another, identify opportunities for improvement in client engagement, and remain open to growth and development as they work towards collective progress.

Meanwhile, Executive Director Maria Teresita D. Lacsamana-Cancio delivered her inspirational message to the participants where she emphasized the importance of understanding that the NCMB’s bipartite programs are proactive. Thus, the participants’ role in the maintenance of industrial peace cannot be over emphasized.

She explained that the agency encourages clients to utilize its programs to prevent future conflicts and guide them in making the right decision. At the same time, when conflicts do arise, the NCMB is prepared to assist in resolving them. This is where the conciliation mediation program comes in.

One of the key highlights of the training was focused on clarifying misconceptions about the Labor-Management Cooperation (LMC) and Grievance Machinery (GM) programs and their role in promoting collaborative labor-management relations. The session, led by Atty. Rebecca C. Chato, former Undersecretary of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), provided a clear and engaging discussion on the true purposes, scope, and long-term benefits of these programs.

Atty. Chato emphasized the importance of LMC and GM in fostering peace and productivity in the workplace. She also provided practical strategies to promote these programs more effectively and engage stakeholders in a meaningful way.

Another important aspect of the training was a session on Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools and platforms, led by Ms. Maria Jamaica Soriano. Participants were introduced to various AI technologies designed to enhance productivity and efficiency in the workplace. In an engaging hour-long workshop, participants created infographics, an AI-generated video presentation, and a PowerPoint presentation, all focused on success stories from both the LMC and GM programs. The session emphasized that technology should be seen as a tool for empowerment rather than a replacement for human talent.

By the end of the training, participants not only gained new knowledge and skills but also a renewed sense of purpose, ready to apply these learnings to create more collaborative, connected, and future-ready workplaces. End/mjpd
