RCMB III SETTLES LABOR DISPUTE IN EVERGOOD HARMONIOUSLY
San Fernando, Pampanga – The Notice of Strike (NOS) case filed by the Nagkakaisang Manggagawa Ng Evergood against Evergood Plastic Industry, Inc. was settled on June 07, 2018 after successful consecutive conciliation-mediation conferences, Regional Conciliation and Mediation Branch III Director Edgar G. Aquino announced today.
Union filed the Notice of Strike case with the branch alleging illegal suspension of two union members, harassment, and differential or underpayment of overtime pay.
With the parties’ positive attitude and the pro-active approach of Conciliator-Mediator Othello B. Tongio, Jr. in assisting the union and management, the labor dispute was resolved swiftly.
“Parties agreed to observe procedural due process as regards the disciplinary action or suspension issued by the management,” Dir. Aquino said.
The two union members will be served with the Notice to Explain until the conduct of an administrative investigation before implementing the required sanction or penalty.
The union president agreed to submit a request letter addressed to the owner of the company seeking to resolve the issues on the differential/underpayment of overtime pay involving maintenance workers and operators.
To enhance the parties’ working relationship, the management’s counsel will coordinate with the HR Manager relative to the conduct of an orientation seminar on Labor-Management Cooperation (LMC) Program to be facilitated by the Branch.
