Cebu City, Philippines—The National Conciliation and Mediation Board (NCMB) was recognized as one of the Outstanding Accounting Offices for CY 2023. This prestigious award reflects the NCMB’s success in meeting the rigorous criteria established by the Association of Government Accountants of the Philippines (AGAP), which evaluates organizations’ financial and accounting work based on accuracy, reliability, timeliness, and compliance with accounting and budgeting rules and regulations of the Commission on Audit (COA) and the Department of Budget and Management (DBM).
The Board was recognized for its exemplary performance in upholding rigorous financial management standards and ensuring compliance with government accounting laws and regulations. This accolade reflects the Board’s dedication to fiscal discipline and its proactive approach to enhancing operational efficiency throughout all financial processes.
Executive Director IV, Maria Teresita D. Lacsamana-Cancio, expressed her pride in the NCMB achievement, saying, “Receiving this award is not only a significant honor but also a testament to the relentless dedication of our Financial and Management Team. In addition to receiving this esteemed award, the Financial and Management Team participated actively in the four-day seminar that addressed contemporary issues in government accounting and financial systems, the evolving landscape of financial reporting standards, and innovative fiscal management strategies. Attendees had the opportunity to engage with experts and practitioners, gaining valuable insights and best practices applicable to their respective agencies. The convention also provided networking opportunities for the Financial and Management Team to connect with fellow public sector financial professionals, fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange to enhance the overall effectiveness of government financial practices nationwide.

The awarding ceremony was part of the AGAP Annual Convention, with this year’s theme, “Improving Financial Inclusivity and Securing Future-Proof Public Finance,” held from 09 to 12 October 2024 at the IEC Convention Center held in Cebu City. The Convention serves as a premier forum for financial professionals in the public sector. It celebrates exceptional accomplishments in government accounting while promoting the adoption of best practices across various agencies.
