Wyeth Philippines, Inc. and Wyeth Philippines Progressive Workers Union-WPPWU-DFA-KMU have achieved a remarkable breakthrough by reaching a mutually beneficial settlement, putting an end to the labor dispute filed on 19 May 2023.
The successful resolution reflects the collective dedication of both parties to prioritize employee welfare and foster harmonious working environment.
During the conference on 16 June 2023, the management and union of Wyeth Philippines agreed on several crucial points of the dispute. Five (5) union officers out of the 125 redundated employees were reinstated as an outcome of the conciliation-mediation conferences conducted. Another five (5) affected employees were retained to take the place of employees who opted to be redundated. Also included in the agreement were HMO extension, birthday and service awards, removal of derogatory/defamatory postings and ceasing of negative commentaries in all forms of media about the company, and non-retaliation agreement.
A total P315 million was also provided to 115 workers as a result of the formulated redundancy program compensation for Wyeth redundant employees.
With the labor dispute officially resolved and dropped from the business calendar, Wyeth Philippines, Inc. and Wyeth Philippines Progressive Workers Union-WPPWU-DFA-KMU are poised to move forward together, nurturing a positive work environment that values employee satisfaction and nurtures company growth.
